Bonding Over Zariin Coasters

Jewellery is our true passion but once in a while we at Zariin push our creative boundaries to design meaningful accessories that we would love to use personally and make some daily rituals more meaningful. Taking this thought forward, we have launched a set of 22kt gold dipped coasters. Zariin coasters make an elegant table top accessory and are a delicate metallic translation of 8 profound Buddhist symbols that bring abundant positivity to any space.

Most of us have that one moment or a ritual in our routine as a couple when you share a drink together and really bond over it. It could be your morning cuppa to kickstart your day, Sunday afternoons with some G&T, chilling with Netflix and the warmth of your favourite beverage and like us, you may also be sharing your work desk with the current WFH situation. These drink experiences of our day end up becoming true moments of reflections and intimate conversations. Mundane but significant, these are also moments in your day one really looks forward to.

Zariin has designed elegant coasters to elevate this experience and fill it with all positive notes.

We reached out to three couples to engage with us and reveal what this bonding time means to them and which symbol do they resonate with the most from the Zariin coasters.

Ayesha Amin Nigam and Ayush Guha

A drink is a true unifier. Which beverage do you usually bond over?

We bond over coffee and kombucha! Tough to pick one but I’d say kombucha cause I drink more kombucha than she does coffee! 🙂

What does this time mean to you?
It’s a time of healing and cleansing. We feel purified and nurtured.

Which of the 8 symbols do you resonate with the most as a couple?
The lotus for both of us! We love flowers.

Shreya Soni and Karan Vasudeva

A drink is a true unifier. Which beverage do you usually bond over?
We’d bond over a glass of water even!
Jokes aside, we love our morning power smoothies, evening gin & tonics, and post-dinner white & lavender cuppas just as much. Other than coffee (which has now replaced the blood in my body), we have very similar tastes and preferences in what we drink!

What does this time mean to you?
For the last decade or so, I’ve been on the constant go. My work is very dynamic, hands on and expects a lot out of me. I’m married to a professional golfer, who has been on the tournament circuit since the age of 10! So you can imagine us both with wheels on our feet and ants in our pants. In the 2.5 years of knowing each other, we have managed to catch fleeting moments where quality must override the quantity of time spent together.

This current time has allowed us to spend more time together and we can’t love it enough! It’s helped accelerate the relationship and the nonstop banter has made this time a lot more fun and a lot less frustrating.

Which of the 8 symbols do you resonate with the most as a couple?
Till some years back, I was practising Buddhism and it helped me find heaps of inner calm, peace and focus. These stunning coasters remind me of those calm moments of a still mind.

I think for the both of us, the eternal knot and the umbrella have a powerful and impactful message. We know everything we do, say, be, live are interrelated and we’ll always have each other’s backs and find refuge & safety in each other’s minds and hugs.
