With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we at Zariin have decided to shine light on the quiet strength, the everyday chaos, and the real moments that truly define motherhood. Defined gender roles and generational conditioning have played a significant role in asserting the narrative of projecting mothers as superheroes. Motherhood is presented through filters to present moms as effortlessly balancing parenting, careers, fitness, relationships and more! All of this while looking their best.
“Mothers are supposed to raise children like they don’t work, work like they aren’t raising any children and look like they are neither working or raising children.” We recently came across this post, which further asserts the point we are trying to make here.
So this Mother’s Day, we are not celebrating superheroes. We are celebrating moms who are human. Moms who drop the ball, cry in bathrooms, and still show up with all their heart! They may be all over but are present when and where it matters. They are always present, mentally or physically.
At Zariin, we’re moving away from the pressure of perfection with our new campaign - “I’m Not a Supermom”. It’s a gentle reminder that you don't need to do it all to be enough. You’re already everything your child needs - just as you are. With this campaign we aim to challenge the performance anxiety, subconscious pressure, comparisons, impossible standards and unrealistic expectations that the idea of “supermom” generates.
#NOTASUPERMOM

The idea of a perfect mother has been ingrained to us through generations. When we challenge this idea, we are not just challenging a situation but an entire conditioning that has been passed down from our grandmothers to our mothers which is broadly reflective of the society. But with women acting and juggling more roles than ever before, it is important that we ease it out for them by reducing the pressures and by redefining what being “perfect” should mean to them.
THE JEWELLERY
The campaign features Sun and Moon inspired jewellery, adding a meaningful layer.
The Moon with the backdrop as Lapis Lazuli represents deep love and emotional connect. It is an ode to a relationship of love that’s forever present, steady, reliable and luminous- just like the moon!
The Sun along with Red Onyx signifies warmth, passion, joy, growth and life-giving energy. It is a celebration of another aspect of relationship which functions as a source of light and constant joy for you, just like the sun!
Motherhood is one of the most deeply rewarding experiences of life but an undeniably demanding one. Whatever the stage, each demands unique trials as a mother and her children navigate the very complex nature of life. It is high time we give due credit to the challenges already being faced and not load it up further with unrealistic standards and expectations. We need to focus on taking off the pressure of being a super mom.
